Global Education Program Assistant, University of Alberta International (2005-2009)

  • Assisted with various Global Education Program initiatives, which aimed to encourage University and non-University communities to learn about and address global issues. This  included work as the University of Alberta International Week publicity assistant (2006, 2008, 2009) and the International Week Programmer (2007). Also assisted with the ‘Welcome to the Reel World’ film series (2006) and helped with administration of Global Education Program funding programs.

Volunteer, Seminar on the United Nations and International Affairs (2001-2006)

(Co-Director 2005-2006)

  • Alberta-based, volunteer run educational camp founded in 1952 that encourages youth to engage with local and global discourses of citizenship, politics, development and environmental issues.
    • Oversaw finances, community and media relations, human resource management, program development for non-profit summer camp
    • Liaised with lecturers from the United Nations Headquarters in New York, Department of National Defense, Foreign Affairs Canada
    • Applied to various granting agencies for funding
    • Procured funding from the Walter and Duncan Gordon Foundation to host “Youth Voices: a Policy and Action Workshop” at the University of Alberta in September 2006.
